Let’s start now our walk to the beach! We leave the fort behind us and continue our walk towards the beach.
A small downhill path leads us to a quaint staircase leading down to the sea, where small boats can dock on days when the north wind is at its strongest.
We continue the path to the main road to the beach.
On the right, you can find the restaurant Remezzo.
Continue on the main road, passing the gift shop.
At the next crossroads, you will see Calma cafe situated on the junction, and to your left, one of Sigri’s two mini markets.
We continue straight, and again come to a crossroads, where we can see an Ottoman fountain directly across from the souvlaki bar Dream “Oneero”.
At the third crossroad, we can take the left road which leads us back to the entrance of the museum, or continue on the right road towards the beach.
We walk with the sea to our right. Taking any of the dead end paths towards the sea, we can get beautiful glimpses of the fort (kastro) and the village.
As we approach the beach, we see the Veranda café on our right hand.
We have now reached the Sigri village beach!
It is a sandy beach, ideal for families with small children and also equipped for people with special needs.
A cantina offers fast food and snacks and rents out lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are also changing rooms and showers.
Directly across from the village beach is the restaurant Plaza. The road leads you towards some of the Petrified Forest Parks, more beaches (Umena, Tsichlionda), and eventually ends up in Eressos.
Only take this road with a vehicle equipped for off-road travel. An unforgetable view to the village!
