Sigri

Port, shelter and moorings

The bay of Sigri and the formation of the coastline create an excellent shelter for small and large boats during rough weather. During the summer months yachts mooring in the Sigri Bay are a common sight. The location of Sigri in the center of the Aegean, and in the middle of the route that leads to the Bosphorus and on to the Black Sea, signifies the importance of the port for leisure, commercial and military purposes.Today, the new modern commercial port in Sigri is being completed as well as the restoration and improvement of the original harbour. This is used by numerous small and large fishing vessels from Sigri and the surrounding area, attracted by the good catches made in these waters. The coastline of Sigri provides several small moorings for fishing boats and yachts, enhancing the picturesque landscape for painters and photographers both amateur and professional
